Tangerines targeting McMillan

DUNDEE UNITED hope to add another Irish player to their squad as the SPL outfit are leading the chase for Bohemians man Evan McMillan.

United already have five Irish-born players in their first-team squad (Sean Dillon, Willo Flood, Jon Daly, Gavin Gunning and Richie Ryan) but boss Peter Houston is a fan of McMillan, who scored nine goals for the Gypsies last season following his move from St Patrick's Athletic.

Pat's are keen to re-sign him with Shamrock Rovers also interested but British clubs are also tracking the versatile player and Chesterfield boss Paul Cook - who would have seen McMillan play in his time as Sligo Rovers manager - is also keen.

McMillan is currently recuperating after minor surgery on a knee problem and hopes to secure his club future in the next week.

Meanwhile, his Bohs team-mate Kevin Feely is waiting for word from Championship side Peterborough United. The Kildare native played for the Posh reserves in a game watched by manager Darren Ferguson yesterday but Feely had the misfortune of scoring an own goal in a 1-1 draw.
