Tallaght Arena perfect for Area Inters

The National Area Intermediate Championships make a return to the Basketball Ireland calendar today at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.

The tournament offers players who fall outside of national competitions the opportunity to play in an All-Ireland competition at Basketball HQ. The men's competition will include Area Board teams from the Dublin, Cork, BNI, North East, Galway, Kilkenny/ South East and Midlands regions.

The women's competition is also expected to be an exciting prospect with Dublin, Cork, Midlands, Kilkenny/South East, Galway and North East regions all set to participate.

The competition will feature more than 25 games over the weekend.

NABC chairperson Rovena Fahy said: "It also provides the opportunity to play in the National Basketball Arena, which is something all players desire to do."

Competitors will also get the chance to watch Ireland's U16 teams will take on Scotland and Wales in friendlies at 6pm and 8pm tonight.
