Schedules in RTE are set to get a lot busier in the next couple of months as a baby boom continues to sweep through the national broadcaster.

All things maternity have become the talk of Montrose as three more staff members have just announced they are expecting.

And it's the world of RTE radio where the pitter-patter of a crowd of tiny feet will be the loudest.

Radio One broadcaster Joe Duffy told listeners that three of his female colleagues on his hugely popular Radio One show Liveline are due to give birth in the coming months.

News of the imminent Liveline arrivals comes just months after 2fm's Laura Woods revealed she is pregnant with her first child, with husband of one year Mark Arigho.

The bubbly blonde, who is a regular contributor on the Will Leahy show, is due to give birth in nine weeks' time, on the same day as TV3 News anchor Colette Fitzpatrick.

"Everyone is super excited. I'm an only child so it's very exciting for my family and of course Mark is thrilled. There are nine of our friends expecting babies at the moment so there is definitely a baby boom."

Former Gerry Ryan Show contributor Evelyn O'Rourke is also due a new baby in early January, while former Off The Rails presenter Pamela Flood announced last weekend that she will give birth to her first child with restaurateur Ronan Ryan next spring.

The countless bundles of joy due in the Donnybrook studios follows a busy summer of baby shower parties.

Weather presenter Ursula Bracken's baby bump was a regular feature up until last month.

She is now on maternity leave after giving birth to her first baby. Fair City star Hilda Faye (37) is another small screen favourite still on maternity leave from the hit soap since giving birth to her first baby girl in June.
