Anne McMahon is the RILSA International Irish Open snooker champion after winning a tactical battle with Cathy Dunne at Joey's Snooker Club in Harmonstown, Dublin.

In the final, McMahon went into the interval 3-0 although pushed hard by Dunne. Dunne took the fourth frame, but there was no stopping McMahon who wrapped up the match in the fifth frame to win 4-1.

Earlier, Dunne had finished top of her group after a play-off with Dunne. Topping the table in the other group was Sandra Bryan, with current Irish No 1 Annette Newman in second place.

McMahon, a four times Irish champion, beat star of the future Jeong Min Park and Bryan for her place in the final, while Dunne eliminated Christine Carr and Newman.

Taking the 6 Red title was Tina Keogh who beat Valerie Maloney, at in the Inter final, Jeong Min Park got the better of Margaret Browne. Park now heads to Germany for the women's Paul Hunter Classic at the end of the month.
