Support for radio station to the tune of €1k gift

WEST Dublin Access Radio 96fm is a community radio station broadcasting to Ballyfermot, Bluebell, Chapelizod, Clondalkin, Inchicore and Palmerstown.

The station, which emphasises involving other community groups in its programming and working to address local issues, received €1,000 from Dublin Bus.

"We're a community organisation, so the service we provide is access inclusion training, communication skills and advice to people through mainstream radio," station manager Liam Flanagan said.

"We bring up issues that affect the community."

The station also helps train groups to produce their own shows. Mr Flanagan said: "Menni Services come in four days a week; these are people with special needs who produce, present and broadcast their own programme."
