Super Saints are scoring for fun

LAST year's semi-finalists St Joseph's CBS and 2011 winners St Benildus College are on the march in this year's FAI Schools Senior Cup.

Both sides are scoring goals for fun as they prepare for the last-16 after convincing pre mid-term wins.

Final-four losers last season, St Joseph's were inspired by an Elie Dongo hat-trick and Ciaran Doyne also got on the scoresheet against Belvedere College.

Force

Manager Michael Kelly has eight of his starting 11 from last year's semi-final and after high-scoring wins against St Vincent's SS and St Finian's CC in the earlier rounds, they look a force to be reckoned with.

Inspired by two sets of twins remaining from last year - Paul and Alan Gannon and Stephen and Ciaran Doyne - Joseph's are hoping new boy Dongo can give them a crucial edge this time round.

On the other side of the draw, Benildus, competition winners two seasons ago, face Marian College in the last-16 next week after putting three goals past Drimnagh Castle before the break.

Captain and Dundalk U19 star Kevin Nolan opened the scoring before substitute Ashley Peters added two late goals.

Brace

Peters scored four in the previous round's 7-3 win over St Aidan's, after grabbing a brace in the 6-1 preliminary round success over Holy Family Rathcoole.

Nolan has also scored in every game and with UCD U19 star Eamon Zayed (younger brother of Libyan international Eamon) pulling the strings in midfield, Benildus will take some stopping.
