Stab man faces Oz deportation

AN Irish man who stabbed a friend in the heart is facing deportation from Australia when he is released from custody.

Paul Anthony Fox (24) pleaded guilty to intentionally causing serious harm to Tyrone man Robert Emmet Corrigan during an incident on April 8.

A court in Australia has heard that Mr Fox had applied for permanent residency but has now had his visa cancelled.

He will be deported from Australia immediately after his release from custody.

Fox, who is a talented GAA player, is due to be sentenced next week.
