Broadcaster Evanne Ni Chuilinn has become a mother for the second time after giving birth to a baby girl.

The sports journalist (33), who announced her pregnancy on The Late Late Show back in January, welcomed daughter Peigi into the world over the weekend.

The RTE star took to Twitter to announce the happy news, where she shared a heart-warming picture of her husband Brian Fitzsimons and their young son Seimi with the tiny newborn.

"Life as a mammy enhanced only by doubling the brood. Baby Peigí joined our posse yesterday," the Kilkenny native captioned the photo.

The new addition to Evanne and Brian's family comes two years after they wed at Mount Druid in Co Westmeath, with son Seimi acting as ring bearer for the occasion.

Experience

The blonde gaeilgeoir has spoken candidly about her experiences as a parent and previously revealed her struggle with post-natal depression.

"I was just crying, sobbing at the drop of a hat," she said. "It wasn't like me, but I seemed powerless to stop it. I couldn't understand what was going on.

"If someone had said to me that I would be crying the week after I brought my new bundle of joy home, I wouldn't have believed them," Evanne wrote in her parenting column for Her.ie.

"It wasn't until after that I realised lots of women go through this. It's all normal."
