THERE were very few who expected that Armagh would be still competing for All Ireland honours at this stage of the year.

I for one never expected them make the last eight but credit where credit is due, they have been the surprise package in this year's championship.

A transformation of tactics from Paul Grimley and Kieran McGeeney have seen them put Cavan, Roscommon, Tyrone and Meath all to the sword.

Their performance against Meath underpinned their continued progression.

The quick movement of possession in their forward line combined with their spread of scorers leaves them as very credible outsiders for their quarter-final against Donegal.

Donegal all still the best exponents of defensive football and Armagh will certainly not find the same open spaces in their forward line this weekend.

If Donegal are one step ahead of themselves and thinking of a semi-final clash with Dublin, they could get caught with a sucker punch from the Orchard County.
