Wenger: Arsenal are no one-man show

BEAMING Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that his team are no one-man show and looks like resting goal machine Robin van Persie for tonight's Champions League clash with Marseille.

Having watched his prized duo of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri leave for European and domestic rivals and endured an 8-2 humiliation at Old Trafford, Wenger's patched up squad have come to life thanks largely to the exploits of their Dutch skipper.

Following van Persie's stunning hat-trick on Saturday in Arsenal's 5-3 victory over London rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Wenger has laughed off suggestion's that his side are over-reliant on their star striker.

"Robin is an exceptional player who takes advantage of the team playing for him and working for him," Wenger said.

"He is scoring goals because the team works for him and he has an extraordinary talent to take those chances."

Both van Persie and Theo Walcott are likely to be rested tonight as Marseille travel to the Emirates where a victory would guarantee the Gunners passage to the last 16.
