THE peerless Paddy Christie managed a famous team at Ballymun Kickhams that contained the likes of Seán Currie, Philly McMahon and Alan Hubbard.
"Since then, the juvenile structure has really expanded," outlined Ballymun's PRO, Cathal Roche.
"Paddy's team was closely followed by a side that had players like James McCarthy, Jason Whelan and Dean Rock.
"That proved that the work at underage level was paying off."
The juvenile chairman, Vinny Kelly, is thrilled with the progress.
"But it requires financial support to keep things going," relates Vinny. And that is where the kind sponsorship of Unicredit Ireland and their managing-director, Michele De Capitani, comes in.
"This is a significant step forward for our club's starlets," explains Ballymun secretary, Dermot McMahon. "The financial backing from such a strong institution safeguards the plans the club holds for our future stars."
