Two clubs want Green

CHAMPIONSHIP sides Hull City and Brighton are weighing up a move for Ireland midfielder Paul Green, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.

Derby County this week announced that, following the collapse of talks on a new contract, Green would be leaving the club at the end of the season and would be a free agent. Green would like to secure a move to a Premier League club but a Championship move is more likely and Hull have already expressed an interest along with Brighton.

Green will discover in the next fortnight if he has made it into the 23-man squad for the Euro 2012 finals. The midfielder played in the first four games of the qualifying campaign but was ruled out for a long spell with a serious knee injury.
