Town stage awesome comeback

Arklow staged a brilliant display to come from 4-1 down to win the WDSL U13 Division 2 Shield in a dramatic match on Saturday, June 9 at Finn Park in Kilcoole.

Having already won the Cup, the Town missed their first two penalties before Eoghan Kenny and Liam Moore scored their efforts.

With David Thomas saving Wolfe Tone's first two spot-kick's, Abbie Molloy stepped up to notch the winner.

Brendan Mooney and Corey Doonan scored the Blue's two penalties.

The Bray team led 2-0 with goals by Craig Mason and Gordon Bradley only for Sean Crowley to pull one back for Arklow.

Doonan made it 3-1 just before half-time. And added a fourth early in the second half.

Sean Dodd's stunning 30-yard free made it 3-2 before Molloy's superb solo gave the Town hope. They forced extra-time when Dylan Christie fired to the roof of the net.

Aughrim did a unique U12 WDSL treble as they finished the season unbeaten.

Having already won the U12 Division 2 League and Cup double, they added the U12 Division 1 Plate to their trophy collection.

But Rangers had to come from behind to claim victory over Arklow on Saturday June 9 at Finn Park in Kilcoole.

The Town took the lead when Finn Fortune converted a first-half penalty after handball in the box.

Aughrim levelled matters in the second half of normal time through Cian Moules' terrific shot.

And went on to claim the winner with just four minutes of the second period of extra-time remaining when Pierce Lawlor headed in Alan
