Top hurling figure asks for county to answer call

THE former Dublin senior hurling manager Michael O'Grady has sent a sliotar spinning through ever letter box in the county. He's hoping for a positive return.

"The Dublin hurlers have given us so much enjoyment, and we feel it's only right to support them." Michael is hoping that the Friends of Dublin Hurling Golf Classic will sell-out.

It's the biggest fund-raiser of the year for the FODH.

It takes place on Thursday, May 21, at the Castlewarden Golf and Country Club in Straffan, Co Kildare.

It's open to all. A team of four costs €300. Tee sponsorship costs €200. To book a slot, ring Michael on 087-2331983. More information on www.fodh.ie.

Central station Liveline call

CALL to the Liveline. Regarding juvenile matters.

"Wouldn't it be great on a very bad day, weather-wise, if there was a central point which people could go to find out whether games were on or off.

"It would save an awful lot of phone calls and bother," said the caller.
