Top female players on board for the first women's Irish Open

British snooker player Emma Bonney, who finished runner-up at the Women's World Snooker Championships earlier this year, leads the entry for the first Irish Women's Snooker Open starting at Joey's in Dublin on Monday July 27. Finals will take place on Thursday July 30.

Also entered is world No 3 Maria Catalona (pictured), who is a cousin of Ronnie O'Sullivan's. There's also the steadily improving Yana Shut from Belarus who reached the World U21 finals and the quarter-finals of the European Championships recently.

Sharon Kaur, the WLBSA press officer, is an experienced player at senior level and was runner-up to Jenny Poulter at the World Seniors last April. She will compete for India. Representing Brazil is Laura Alves while Jeong Min Park will play for South Korea.

Leading the local entry are recently crowned Irish champion Annette Newman, four times Irish champion Ann McMahon and 2014 champion Sandra Bryan.
