ASTON VILLA
SHAY GIVEN is about to end his time at Aston Villa and move to Championship side Middlesbrough on a two-year deal.
Given, 39, is in the last year of his contract at Villa but he is likely to be second-choice behind Brad Guzan again next season and promotion-chasing Boro can offer the Ireland man first team football as well as the security of a two-year deal.
Meanwhile, Norwich City have been knocked back in their bid to sign Ireland international Robbie Bady from Hull City.
Steve Bruce's side have reportedly turned down Norwich's latest offer of £3million for the Dubliner but the Canaries appear unwilling to meet the £7m price tag set by Hull. Hull have already lost two of their Ireland internationals this summer, Paul McShane and Stephen Quinn moving to Reading, but City are not in a rush to sell Brady.
