RELEGATED Hull City have offered Stephen Quinn a new contract, but the axe has fallen on compatriot Paul McShane.
Fellow Irishmen Robbie Brady and David Meyler are on long-term deals but City boss Steve Bruce is making plans for next season's Championship campaign. Bruce has begun a clear-out of players with six first-teamers given free transfers today, including McShane, who joined the Tigers from Sunderland in 2009.
McShane made 23 appearances last season and is a popular figure with the fans but Bruce has opted to move on the club's long-serving defender.
Bruce has offered Quinn a new deal there's no guarantee he will sign as the midfielder started just 17 Premier League games last term and Quinn (29) is keen to get more first-team football to boost his chances at international level. Quinn links up with the Ireland squad next weekend in Dublin.
