p I WENT along to Croker last Sunday hoping Dublin's minor hurlers could repeat the class and authority they showed in the drawn All-Ireland MHC final against Tipp.
However, Tipperary were much shaper than in the drawn encounter and they swept up nearly every breaking ball to set the tone and tempo. Dublin looked like a completely different team - their touch seemed to abandon them time after time.
Dublin really struggled in most sectors of the pitch to match the hunger of Tipp. Cian O'Callagan, at full-back, tried his heart out for the Dubs but there was not much he could do to stop the rot.
It was a disappointing end for Shay Boland and his management team as overall they were probably the best team in the country but just didn't produce the goods when it mattered most.
I am sure Anthony Daly was monitoring a lot of these lads very closely and he will call up three or four for his panel next year.
