FOXROCK CABINTEELY

CONGRATULATIONS to our senior player Sinead Murphy who got married this weekend. Sinead is from Wexford and returned there to tie the knot. All our senior team decamped down there for the day, so too did the management team to keep an eye on the girls in advance of their first round of the senior club championship! This match is scheduled for the 14th October and the venue is Bray Emmets. A number of our teams were in championship semi final action this weekend. The U13As defeated last year's winners Kilmacud Crokes to advance to a final against 'Boden. The U12As had a very strong performance against Scoil Uí Chonnaill to earn their place in the final, also against 'Boden. The U12Cs advanced to the final with a strong win over neighbours Cuala this team is an U11 team that came up for championship and will definitely be a team of the future, with players such as Emma, Jodie, Molly, Kez, Jessic, Lily and Rosalind showing skills way beyond their years. The highlight of the weekend was the U14Cs who have made it to the championship final following their defeat of O'Toole's. The management has kept this team together over the years despite always been the underdogs and suffering heavy defeats. There are a core of 20 players and they rarely augment their teams with players from the lower divisions so it is a true C team.

Earlier this year they were runners up in division 5 feile and now their appearance in their first championship final is the icing on the cake. Well done girls!

OUR team of the week goes to the U16s who had a great win over St. Patrick's Palmerstown. This win puts the team on the top of their league and into the top four playoffs. The same can be said for the adult team who lost out to a very sharp St Sylvester's in the Parson cup final on Sunday last the team have really improved this season reaching the B championship Semi final, The Parson cup final and a top 4/5 finish in the league. ST PATRICK'S, DONABATE

DESPITE biblical flooding in Donabate during the week, our hurlers were able to play a match against Parnells on the second pitch. The match ended 1-18 to 0-08 for Pats. We're hoping for a home match for the semi final and also for a nice, easy, dry winter! All of our other home matches had to be postponed except for our U14 girls who played a pulsating game against Naomh Barróg and came away winners by a point. Well done to all the girls and many thanks to Kate who played up for the team - much appreciated! Lots of would-be-boxers have begun their training in preparation for our White Collar Boxing fund raiser on 23 November. Watch out for them as they pound the pavement! Also watch out for their sponsorship cards. They're not the only ones preparing, as our firsts are counting down to their Championship Quarter Final Bout against St Brigid's tomorrow, Wednesday 3 October in Garristown. We always welcome new players here in St Pat's but we're particularly looking for girls born 2000. We have a number of young ladies at this age but need some more before we can enter a squad for 2013. Please PM our facebook page "StPatsGAA - Ladies" or email info@stpatsgaa.com.
