TIME constraints on last week's The Sunday Game precluded us mentioning the sending off of James Stafford in the Wicklow/Meath match in Dr Cullen Park for a second yellow card but I'm certain that the challenge for which Stafford was penalised was a fair shoulder charge.
There was an incident of dissent between Stafford and referee Pádraig Hughes earlier in the game and I hope that that did not cloud the official's judgement.
For me it was a poor decision from Hughes and hugely unfortunate on Stafford, who was ploughing a lone furrow in the middle of the park against Meath and was one of their last hopes of getting back into the game after Leighton Glynn went off injured.
