Sponsorships announced

YESTERDAY was a good day for both Fairyhouse and the Curragh racecourses with two major sponsorship deals announced.

Michael O'Leary was in Dublin to reveal the 2m4f Grade One novice chase on Easter Sunday formerly known as the Powers Gold Cup would now become the Ryanair Gold Cup and return to a value of €100,000.

The leading National Hunt owner, who sponsors the race himself but uses the Ryanair title, also revealed a number of deals for the airline in conjunction with the Fairyhouse Easter Festival.

Meanwhile, the Irish Lincoln, the Rockingham, Cambridgeshire and Cesarewitch will all be sponsored by Tote Ireland this year.
