Wayne Rooney believes that his partnership with Zlatan Ibrahimovic can bring success back to Manchester United next season.
The United squad arrived back home in England last night after a farcical pre-season tour of China, poor weather forcing the abandonment of yesterday's friendly against Manchester City.
A frustrated Jose Mourinho is likely to hold talks with his employers to make sure there is never again a repeat of the badly-organised spell in China. The United squad will be given two days off before returning for training on Thursday, a first chance for stalwart Rooney to work alongside new signing Ibrahimovic due to the Swede taking an extended break following Euro 2016.
And Rooney is relishing the prospect of playing with the former PSG man. "I am looking forward to it," said the United captain.
"I think he has been one of the best strikers in world football over the last 10 years and he has always won trophies everywhere he has been.
"He is a huge character so I am looking forward to getting back, training with him and hopefully forming a good partnership and being successful together."
