LOUIS van Gaal (above) believes his Manchester United side can still catch Chelsea in the Premier League title race.

United nicked a 1-1 draw at home to Jose Mourinho's side thanks to an injury-time strike from Robin van Persie, extending United's unbeaten run to four games.

Mourinho was unhappy with the referee who dismissed Branislav Ivanovic just before United's late goal but van Gaal feels his side are very much in contention for the title.

"Of course we can, there's a long way to go, nine, 10 games played and it's not even halfway," he said when asked if United can keep pace with leaders Chelsea.

"If you come back in a game like this, the fact is we were 1-0 down and it gives us a boost. If you look at the table we should have won, we wanted to win to get the points but we can be happy with a draw.

"In my opinion we are better every day. In training and if you look at games you can see we are comfy on the ball."
