Win or bust

ROBERTO MANCINI reckons that Rafa Benitez has only one chance of winning over mutinous Chelsea fans: "He must win, win, win."

Benitez (left) faced deeply disgruntled home supporters at Stamford Bridge during yesterday's scoreless draw with Manchester City who aimed an unprecedented wave of abuse at their interim manager.

Many held up "In Rafa we will never trust" posters (pictured below) and Benitez managed to antagonise them further by dismissing their protest.

"How many people do you need to write a banner?" he asked. "Just one. Then two holding it."

But Mancini has the answer for Benitez, who he believes can only calm troubled waters by winning games.

"Win, win, win, win, win, win, win. Win every game. Only the results can help, I think so," he said.

Mancini's advice comes amid widespread speculation that Pep Guardiola has already chosen Manchester United as his next project and that Roman Abramovich could end up stuck with Benitez.
