WIGAN are hoping that their key Irish midfielder Chris McCann can recover from an injury he picked up in their shock FA Cup win over Manchester City in time to feature in a vital league game tomorrow.
Finglas lad McCann was taken off at half time during Wigan's superb 2-1 win away to City, and boss Uwe Rosler admits he was missed.
Rosler now hopes to have McCann available for tomorrow's league game against Sheffield Wednesday.
"I felt everything was working very well and I was a little bit concerned that we lose the momentum when Chris went off," Rosler said.
"I hope Chris will recover in time for Wednesday, although I'm not sure.
"We do have other players that have to step up and play, and the squad rotation has worked very well since I came to the club.
"Everyone is needed, everybody is contributing to our aims we have this season and that's the only way to have success," Rosler added.
McCann, uncapped at senior level, had impressed in the Wigan side this season and, as he is still only 26, an international call-up could still come for the former Burnley man.
