Warnock primed for loan raids

LEEDS boss Neil Warnock hopes to bolster his squad before the emergency loan window shuts after the lacklustre draw against Charlton left him considering his options.

The Whites will host Birmingham at Elland Road tomorrow in the Championship with Warnock waiting for updates on injured duo Rodolph Austin and Lee Peltier who both missed Tuesday's 1-1 tie with the Addicks due to ankle problems.

"Rudy has had a scan. He has a slight problem with his ankle," Warnock said. "Pelts has one as well but I don't think there's anything too much wrong and he was feeling a bit better on Tuesday. I think we'll be okay come the weekend."

Warnock added: "It would still be nice to have more in the squad to allow us to change things.

"We're going to work on that. I'm talking to the chairman about trying to bring one or two loan players in."

In the other games, leaders Leicester are at home to Crystal Palace, bottom side Ipswich, who parted company with manager Paul Jewell on Wednesday, are at home to Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough are at home to Bolton and Huddersfield visit Millwall.

Elsewhere, Barnsley host Nottingham Forest, Blackburn play Watford, Brighton travel to Blackpool, Cardiff host Burnley, Peterborough play Derby, Wolves host Charlton and Bristol City take on Hull.
