Ipswich Town are close to agreeing terms with ex-Ireland man Stephen Ward on a one-year contract.
Ward (34) was released by Stoke City at the end of last season, having helped in their successful battle against relegation, and he was eager to extend his playing career. League One side Ipswich offered the Dubliner a trial and after a week's training, manager Paul Lambert is happy to bring Ward on board.
Meanwhile, Irish youth cap Aaron O'Driscoll is on his way to Mansfield Town after a four-year stay at Southampton. The 20-year-old was released by the Saints in July and following a trial with St Mirren and also a brief spell training with Bohemians, the former Cherry Orchard player has been offered a contract by Mansfield's Dublin-born manager Graham Coughlan.
Ireland midfielder Shaun Williams will take on a coaching role at Millwall next season while remaining a member of the first team squad.
The 33-year-old has become a popular figure at the London club since his move in 2014 and boss Gary Rowett is keen to get him more involved with a new role.
