Jamie Vardy is expected to return to the Leicester squad for today's visit of Liverpool, but Matty James faces another injury lay-off.

Vardy missed the League Cup game against Jurgen Klopp's team on Tuesday night having been withdrawn late on in the draw at Huddersfield last weekend with a groin injury.  The England striker had been unable to train because of the problem but he did some work yesterday and it is hoped he will be back in contention when Liverpool return to the King Power Stadium.

"We had to take it easy with Jamie the first part of the week but he trained this morning. Hopefully, there will be no reaction. We will see in the morning. He is okay," said Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare yesterday.  However, James will miss out against the Reds after being ruled out for between four and six weeks with an Achilles injury. The midfielder sustained the problem in the home defeat to Chelsea two weeks ago and the issue has turned out to be worse than initially thought.
