United let Chilean flop Henriquez go to Zagreb

Manchester United have loaned Chile striker Angelo Henriquez to Dinamo Zagreb who have the option of making the move permanent at the end of the season, the Croatian champions said.

"I am delighted to have joined Dinamo and I really want to make an impact here, primarily to help the club qualify for the Europa League group stage," Henriquez, who scored two goals in three international appearances, said.

"This is the right club for me at this stage of my career," added the 20-year old, who spent the last two seasons on loan at Wigan Athletic and Spanish side Zaragoza after joining Unitedf rom Universidad de Chile in 2012.

Henriquez caught United's attention after scoring 21 goals in 17 games for Chile's Under-21 side, having also won two league titles and the Copa Sudamericana with Universidad, but has never got a look-in at Old Trafford.

He was an unused substitute in Wigan's shock 1-0 win over Manchester City in the 2013 FA Cup final.

Dinamo meet Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti in the Europa League's two-legged playoff round.

United manager Louis van Gaal has appeared to rule World Cup trio Adnan Januzaj, Marouane Fellaini and Robin van Persie out of tonight's friendly against Valencia.

The Dutchman will walk out at Old Trafford for the first time as Reds boss and is anticipating a tough test against the Spanish outfit.

"The players have to be fit and the first thing you can do is be fit," he explained. "I don't think they are fit after one week of training sessions. Surely not, when you compare it with players I have already trained.

"It is more difficult as they are not as the same level as the players we have trained already and have already played 45 minutes, 60 minutes or 90 minutes. So that is difficult.

"They came later, like Januzaj, Fellaini and van Persie so it is difficult to start at the same level. So we have to adjust and that is difficult," Van Gaal added.
