Under-21s finish bottom of group

ROCK BOTTOM for the second time in a row, Ireland's U21s finished their European Championship qualifying campaign as they started, with a defeat to Turkey.

Wim Koevermans' charges went down 1-0 in Turkey last night, leaving Ireland bottom of Group 2 with seven points and five defeats from 10 games, but a young Irish side did put up a good display against the Turks, losing out to an 81st minute goal from Kose, and captain Seamus Coleman almost nicked a draw for Ireland with an effort late on.
