Towell makes Bhoys bow as vital points are dropped against Caley

CELTIC dropped two valuable points in the SPL title race in their draw at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, but there was reason to celebrate for Dubliner Richie Towell as he made his debut for the Bhoys, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.

U21 cap Towell has been on the fringes of the first team at Parkhead for the past few months with a number of appearances on the bench, but he had to wait until Saturday for his first chance in the team.

Towell came on as a 57th-minute sub for Joos Hooiveld when Celtic were leading 1-0, but the Bhoys ended up with just a point as Richie Foran inspired Caley to a 2-2 draw.

Towell now hopes to make his first start in Saturday's SPL game away to Aberdeen.
