Three wise men a help says Moyes

DAVID MOYES says he has no problem working in the shadow of lingering legends Alex Ferguson, Bobby Charlton and Bryan Robson.

Defeat in the first-leg of the Capitol Cup semi-final by Sunderland inched Manchester United ever closer to a crisis last night.

Ferguson, Charlton and Robson all sat in the stands during the 2-1 loss at the Stadium of Light but Moyes has no problem with that.

"Not at all. Alex is a great sounding board for me," said Moyes. "He is there to help, so is Sir Bobby. He is terrific.

"Bryan Robson is at the training ground regularly, I speak to him regularly. I find the three of them terrific."

Moyes is clearly happy to take backing where ever he can get it after a third consecutive defeat, the first time that's happened in 13 years and took time out to thank Manchester United supporters for their patience.

"This hasn't happened at Manchester United for a long time," said Moyes.

"I thought the support was great. They are sticking with the club, sticking with the manager and that's exactly what you need when you are not doing so well."
