CARLOS Tevez has refuted Roberto Mancini's claim that he refused to play for Manchester City against Bayern Munich last night.
Mancini reached the end of his tether during City's 2-0 Champions League defeat when he asked substitute Tevez to strip and reacted with fury when he refused.
"He is finished. He refused to go on. I can't accept this. He won't play with me again.
"I don't want another situation like tonight, never. With me he is finished.
"In the next few days, I will speak with the chairman, Khaldoon al Mubarak," fumed Mancini.
"Do you think a player can do this at Bayern Munich, Milan or Manchester United? Never."
But Tevez effectively accused Mancini of lying when he issued a statement this morning.
"I would like to apologise to the Manchester City supporters, with whom I have always had a strong relationship, for any misunderstanding that occurred in Munich.
"I had warmed up and I was ready to play. This is not the right time to go into specific details as to why this did not happen but I wish to state I never refused to play.
"There was some confusion on the bench and I believe my position was misunderstood."
