LUIS SUAREZ has delivered the only post-deadline day headline Liverpool fans wanted to read and declared: "I'm staying where I am."
The signing of Phillipe Coutinho was a big boost for the Anfield faithful and showed evidence of continuing progress under manager Brendan Rodgers, but nothing was more important than Suarez's intentions as the January transfer window slammed shut.
Preparing for a visit to take on champions Manchester City on Sunday, Suarez cut through the final day hype with a clear message for those linking him with Bayern Munich.
"I will wait until the end of the season and see how we are doing. We won't know until then how we are doing and what our position is so I am prepared to wait until that time," said Suarez.
"But I want to say now that, if you want to know what will happen to me if we don't qualify for the Champions League, then I will say this: I have a contract with Liverpool and I am very happy here. I will stay."
