Suarez in storm

THE ENGLISH FA will throw the book at Luis Suarez after he was captured on camera making a one-finger gesture towards Fulham fans last night.

The Reds had a difficult night as they lost 1-0 at Craven Cottage – Clint Dempsey's late goal the difference between the sides – and also had a man sent off after Jay Spearing was controversially shown a straight red card.

But there could be more trouble on the way for the Anfield club because of the gesture which Suarez directed at the home fans.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish ruled out taking action against the Uruguayan - for now.

“I've not seen the picture and I am not taking anybody's word for it. If you show me the picture and I am convinced what you are saying is true, then I've got a decision to make. But until you have proved it is true to me, I won't comment,” said Dalglish, adding that he was incensed by shouts of ‘cheat' directed at Suarez by the home fans.

“Scandalous. At the end of the day, we will look after Luis the best we can and I think it is about time he got a wee bit of protection from some people,” he added.

Suarez later commented on twitter: “We lost a game that we deserved to win, I'm very upset with what happened tonight”.
