Suarez handed more time

LIVERPOOL striker Luis Suarez is set to be granted further time to respond to a charge of racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra (pictured), with the English Football Association yet to arrange a personal hearing.

The Uruguayan was charged by the FA on November 23, as a result of an incident during the Premier League clash with United at Anfield on October 15, when he is alleged to have "used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour" towards Evra.

Although Liverpool insisted that Suarez would plead not guilty and request a personal hearing, it is understood that he has yet to contact the FA to request appearing in person.
