LEAGUE CHAMPIONS Sligo Rovers have received another boost ahead of next season after star 'keeper Gary Rogers agreed terms on a new deal.
Meath native Rogers was a key figure in last season's title success as the former Drogheda United man missed just one league game, but there were fears he could follow the example of players like Jason McGuinness by leaving the club.
"It is brilliant to continue my career with Sligo Rovers," he said. "I'm already looking forward to next year. Rovers are a top club, I really enjoyed my time in Sligo last year and I'm very happy my future here is sorted.
"Winning the league was fantastic, the club has made great strides and we want to continue that with more trophies in 2013."
St Patrick's Athletic are also building for next season as striker Anto Flood has signed a new contract with the Saints, while captain Conor Kenna is close to agreeing a new deal with the Inchicore club.
