SEaN ST LEDGER is planning a trip to Africa next summer -- hopefully after completing his duties at the European Championship finals -- as part of his support for a jersey trading scheme with the Friends In Ireland charity.
If fans trade in their old Ireland shirt at a Champion Sports outlet, they'll get €20 off the new strip, and the old jersey will be put to good use.
"You get €20 off the new jersey but the most important thing is that the old jerseys will go to kids in Africa," said St Ledger.
"The feedback so far has been great, I speak regularly to the Friends In Ireland people and they say the scheme is going really well, and if we get to the finals, hopefully I will get to deliver the jerseys to Africa myself."
lSean St Ledger and Three are asking Irish fans to Go Green With Pride for the Euro play-offs against Estonia, and trade in their old Republic of Ireland football jerseys in any Champion Sports store nationwide and get €20 off the new home jersey.
The traded-in jerseys will be donated to Friends In Ireland, a charity founded by Marian Finucane that Sean is an ambassador with. The scheme will run until November 20.
