Manchester City have moved a step closer to landing the highly-rated Schalke winger Leroy Sane.
The 20-year-old arrived in Manchester on Sunday evening and checked into the Radisson hotel, before leaving to undergo a medical before 9.30am yesterday.
It is expected the deal will be confirmed early this week.
On Sunday afternoon, Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel said Sane would travel with the German side to Austria to take part in their pre-season training camp, unless a fee with City had been agreed. "Either we come to terms or we don't," he said. '"But if Leroy boards the plane to Austria with us he'll stay a player of this club."
A fee worth an initial £31.2 million is thought to have been finalised, with the player's wage demands understood to have been thrashed out some time ago.
Sane has been clear about his desire to move to City throughout the summer, with the opportunity to work under Pep Guardiola thought to have been a key factor in his decision to move.
