IAN BERMINGHAM wants his St Patrick’s Athletic team-mates to keep up the momentum from Friday’s win over Derry City so they can keep up the pressure on league leaders Dundalk,
The Saints are six points behind Dundalk with just two league games left before the mid-season break and Liam Buckley’s side know that they must nab three points from tonight’s game at home to struggling Drogheda United if they are to stay in touch.
“We’re looking forward to the game as after last Friday’s win, we know we need to back that up and get another win to put us back in the mix with the teams at the top,” said Bermingham.
“t’s important we get a result as with the FAI Cup starting next week, and then our game against Dundalk the week after, we know we need the points. Drogheda will be a tough side so we’ll need to put in a good performance to get anything from the game.”
Drogheda head to Inchicore with a dismal run, eight defeats in the last nine games. “It is difficult to raise spirits given the run that we are on at the moment,” says boss Robbie Horgan.
