Rockbrook first to shine

ROCKBROOK Park School have stolen a march on the rest by kicking off their Leinster First Year Boys 'B' Cup campaign with an impressive victory.

The 32-team competition for smaller schools at First Year level officially gets under way in the coming fortnight, but Rockbrook have already played, and won, their first tie.

The Rathfarnham school battled to an entertaining 9-4 victory over St Laurence's College, Laytown.

Striker Rufus Ngewge stood out on the day with an impressive hat-trick, while midfielder maestro Hugh Harney also shone brightly.

Despite the emphatic nature of the win in the end, goalkeeper Adam Lee had to keep Laurence's at bay early on.

Rockbrook face either St Kevin's College, Crumlin or Our Lady of Mercy SS, Drimnagh in the next round.
