ROBBIE KEANE is now likely to see out his career with LA Galaxy after the Ireland captain agreed a new contract with the MLS club, writes AIDAN FITZMAURICE.
Keane, 33, has settled in well since his move to LA in 2011 and the club have moved to keep the Dubliner on board with what they call a "multi-year" contract extension, which will see Keane spend at least another two seasons at Galaxy with the option of another season.
"I'm enjoying my football and that is the most important thing. It was only a matter of time for me to sign," said Keane, who missed last night's friendly defeat by Serbia to focus on his fitness ahead of the MLS season restart this weekend.
"It was obviously done a while ago and I'm very pleased. I think it works out for both myself and the Galaxy.
"So far pre-season has been good and everyone is looking forward to the real business.
"We can see then how it comes together and the two new strikers that we have will suit me because of the way I play."
