West Ham are likely to hand Declan Rice another chance to showcase his talents against an in-form Chelsea side in tomorrow's London derby as boss Manuel Pellegrini admits the teenager has made an impression.

And with England No. 2 Steve Holland on hand to see Rice in the flesh last week, Martin O'Neill can only be getting more anxious for the player to make a final call on his international allegiance.

Rice was back in the Hammers' starting XI for last week's win over Everton, his first start league since the opening day of the season, and it can't be a coincidence that Holland, a key member of Gareth Southgate's backroom team, was there to see him play.

"Players always have an opportunity to play, when they have the chance they must take that chance," says Pellegrini.

"Declan did very well last game, Pedro Obiang did very well. We have a squad and we need all the players.

"You never know which one will be fit for whatever game to another and you know that you need maximum demand of the 22 or 23 players."
