ANDY REID is poised for a return to the Sunderland team for tomorrow's FA Cup clash with Portsmouth after missing the last three games due to injury, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.
Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is ready to make sweeping changes to the side which lost 7-2 to Chelsea, with five players coming back into contention, including Dubliner Reid, who has not played since the 1-1 draw with Everton just after Christmas. Defenders Anton Ferdinand (ankle) and Nyron Nosworthy (knee) are the only two definitely not available.
Bruce said: "Anton Ferdinand and Nyron Nosworthy won't be ready. But I would expect Reidy to be in contention, Craig Gordon, Lee Cattermole and Kieran Richardson -- I am very, very confident they will all be available.
"We need them back. We haven't got the biggest of squads and we've had more than our fair share of injuries."
