Rafael Benitez is "100 per cent" sure Sergio Ramos will stay no to Manchester United and stay at Real Madrid.
United manager Louis van Gaal's pursuit of Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller also looks to have hit the buffers after Bayern's chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said the club would be "out of our minds to sell" the 25-year-old World Cup winner.
Benitez insists defender Ramos will remain at Real Madrid. "I have a lot of respect for (United manager) Louis van Gaal, but Sergio will be staying with us," the Real Madrid manager said this morning.
When asked whether he was absolutely certain the centre-half would stay, Benitez said: "For me, 100 per cent. I insist that it is clear for me and the club, Sergio will be here. Football is a curious world, but Ramos will be staying."
Amid reports of a €100m bid from United for Muller (right), Rummenigge said: "There are some players who just don't have any price tag," Rummenigge said. "We would be out of our minds to sell Muller."
United are also weighing up a £22m deal for Barcelona striker Pedro.
