psg take it to the bridge

Chelsea's manager Jose Mourinho shakes hands with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois at the end of the Champions League round of 16, first leg match at the Parc des Princes in Paris last night.

JOSE Mourinho offered heartfelt thanks to Thibaut Courtois for another stunning match-saving performance which kept Chelsea's Champions League ambitions alive against PSG.

Courtois took the lion's share of the praise after Chelsea escaped from the Parc des Princes with a 1-1 draw and with Petr Cech sitting on the bench, Mourinho believes he has the best goalkeepers in the world

"If football was about having nine outfield players plus two goalkeepers, we would give no chance to anyone," said the Chelsea manager. "We would be absolutely phenomenal because they're both phenomenal."

Asked specifically whether the Belgian had saved Chelsea in Paris, he added: "Yes. Phenomenal. He made two or three important saves in the game."

Skipper John Terry added: "Both teams were feeling each other out in the first half, Thibaut Courtois pulled off some great saves and we go away with a happy draw."
