THE FAI has reached an agreement with Giovanni Trapattoni's Euro 2012 squad which will see the players paid €1m up front and more through a bonus system based on performance.
The deal could net the players €2m or more in total depending on how far they progress in the competition.
The announcement will put an end to speculation about conflict between the players and Abbotstown.
It also confirms Robbie Keane's prediction that the issue would be put to bed without fuss this week.
Keane met FAI officials for what he described as a "very short and very amicable" meeting and a deal was done "in minutes".
The FAI expects to net €8m from participation in Euro 2012 and the player bonus represents a sizeable chunk of that total but is on a par with payments for previous tournaments.
