Pep steps away

PEP Guardiola has walked away from his beloved Barcelona and created a blizzard of speculation about his future plans.

Guardiola confirmed at a press conference today that his days as coach to the best club team in the world have come to an end.

Tito Vilanova, current assistant manger, will step in as interim boss.

“I need a rest, I need to get away from everything,” Guardiola said. “This has been the best place, it’s been a privilege but it’s time to go. I want to thank the players.

“Day by day for so many years they made it all possible.”

Guardiola will be the top target for Chelsea and a host of top clubs across Europe, including AC and Inter Milan.
