Orchard on course to scuttle Ark'

Arklow Town's pursuit for their first win of the season continues tonight as the Senior Division's basement dwellers take on Cherry Orchard in the Garden County.

Three of the bottom four are in action this weekend, with Town up first, as the focus in the top-flight switches to the teams who have taken up an early season residence on the trap door.

Town are the only side left in the division without a win, having lost their manager and several key players at the season's outset.

Adrift

Despite picking up just one point in eight games, the Wicklow men haven't been cut adrift at the bottom of the table. Safety is a mere five points ahead of them.

Two of Town's relegation rivals have tough tasks tomorrow, Firhouse are at Crumlin while Edenderry travel to Bangor, so a win tonight will have a huge impact at the bottom. The question is; will the Orchard be in the mood to aid a revival?

SENIOR DIVISION

ARKLOW TOWN v CHERRY ORCHARD

The Orchard will be fully expected to recover from their 4-1 defeat by Tolka Rovers last weekend when they arrive in Arklow tonight. Town have scored just once in their last four games and it's hard to see where the goals will come against a well-drilled Orchard side. Verdict: Away Win.

CRUMLIN UNITED v FIRHOUSE CLOVER

Firhouse managed their first win of the season in their last outing, a 2-0 win over Arklow, but tomorrow is a different hurdle. United are still smarting from their Inter Cup exit and Clover could be in for the backlash. Verdict: Home Win.

BANGOR CELTIC v EDENDERRY TOWN

Bangor will look to keep their momentum against a Town side that is starting to find their top-flight feet. The Celts are just a couple of points off the lead and they can keep moving in the right direction with a win tomorrow. Verdict: Home Win.
