O'Neill linked with Hibs

MICHAEL O'NEILL has been touted as the next manager for SPL club Hibernians by their former boss Mixu Paatelainen.

The Easter Road job is vacant following the sacking of Colin Calderwood on Sunday and Shamrock Rovers boss O'Neill (pictured), a former Hibs player, has emerged as the bookies favourite in Scotland.

"If you're asking me my opinion on Michael, I think he would be a wonderful candidate for the job. He is an ex-player, he knows the club and he has already shown his skill as a manager. He has to be a serious candidate," said Paatelainen.

DERRY CITY man Eamon Zayed is back in the national team squad with Libya.

The Dublin-born player was capped by Libya last year though his international career was halted by the instability in Libya, but football is back on the agenda for Libyans and they have called in Zayed for a training camp in Qatar next month.
